Fairy Tale Carriage Bed

This one of a kind Carriage probably began it’s life as a prop in a theatre production or store window display . . .

It came to Crooked Willow looking a little shabby – but with lots of Fairy Tale Potential . . .

After a fresh coat of paint and a mattress placed across the original seats – it has now become the perfect, whimsical spot for your princess to lay her head!

Cottage Style Dressers

These two little dressers have been refreshed with a bright coat of paint and some new hardware.  We used Azores on the tall dresser and Hawthorne Yellow on the short dresser.  Both pieces are accented with a crisp white trim to give them cottage style.

Trunk Show

If storage is at a premium in your home, consider how a trunk might be the answer to your dilemma.

We found this battered trunk at a tag sale last fall.

After scrubbing, priming and painting, we added wooden legs to the bottom of the trunk to provide height.  The top was finished off with a variety of colorful letters in different fonts.

The trunk can now be used as a funky coffee table to store extra blankets, or in a child’s room to keep toys out of sight!

“Where Words Fail – Music Speaks” is the title of this wonderful trunk, perfect for the music lover in your family.  The inside of the trunk is a delightful surprise of old sheet music, songs which include “Happy Days”,  “Tie a Yellow Ribbon” and many other tunes which will bring a smile to your face.

Sneak Peek at New Merchandise . . .

Every day is like Christmas here at Crooked Willow as we await the arrival of the UPS and FedEx trucks bringing our new merchandise for the upcoming season!  Thought we would give you a sneak peek . . .

Textured pillows give a colorful punch to a bed, sofa or your favorite chair!

Vintage style picture frames and beautiful bottle toppers add an elegant touch to your side table. Our new line of "Memory Books" give you a place to record thoughts for your loved ones.

Our pretty floral tops will flatter your figure and put you in a springtime frame of mind!

“Chair-ish” Inspirations

Bring spring to a dull corner in your bedroom or sun porch with an eye catching chair.  It doesn’t have to cost a lot of money if you are handy with a paint brush and staple gun.  Here are three chairs that we found in our storage shed, that had definitely seen better days.  While some might have thought they should go directly to the dumpster – we thought that a little TLC would be just the thing to give each chair new purpose.

The wonderful carving on the back of this chair and the unique spindles give it a cottage feel. The original white paint didn’t do the details justice. By highlighting the special characteristics of the chair with these bright colors, it definitely makes a statement!

This little chair wasn’t too exciting in its previous life. The black iron and white vinyl seat were serviceable, but not show stopping.

With a few brush strokes and an eye popping floral fabric this “Ice Cream Parlor Chair” is now the perfect spot to sit and enjoy a sweet treat!

At first glance this "Bare Bones" chair with a wire seat and missing cushion could have easily been passed by. However, the upturned arms and graceful lines of this piece made it a great candidate for a make over.

By applying a fresh coat of “Hillside Green” and topping the seat with a comfortable cushion covered in a pretty blue and green toile, the vanity chair now makes a perfect addition to any bedroom or bath.
